A Profitable Green Opportunity For Contractors!

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, funds were distributed nationally to encourage states to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Using those funds, North Dakota has developed a rebate program offering cash back to consumers who install energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, including many of those offered by DSG. The rebate program offers up to $5,000 in savings for residential consumers, and up to $15,000 for commercial. Talk about an easy sale – both homeowners and business owners will be glad to hear about these rebates!

There are some restrictions to the program. For example, rebates are not available for federal, state or local government agencies. Also, if members made improvements prior to the start of the program, those improvements are not qualified for a retroactive rebate. The program ends when funds run out, or on December 31, 2011 – whichever comes first. Click here to see how the North Dakota Association Of Rural Electric Cooperatives is putting the program to use.

Other states also have their own rebate programs to provide consumers cash-back for saving energy. Contact your local electric provider for more information.
